Career Possibilities

The program is designed to meet the educational needs of present and future computing professionals, or life/physical scientists interested in starting a career or updating their skills in bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is a growing field with a need for bright people to go out and make research happen. Typical career positions in bioinformatics include software engineering, database design and computational analysis in the biomedical sciences, etc.

Graduates of the program have been successful in finding positions as bioinformatics specialist, computational biologist, computer programmer, senior research associate, and database specialist.
