Advising A well-prepared student can complete the Masters degree by taking only graduate courses. This student graduates with an exceptionally strong preparation to enter or continue a career in bioinformatics at an advanced level. Students who have work experience or undergraduate majors in any field of science, engineering, liberal arts, or life sciences and who have some computing and mathematics preparation and aptitude can succeed, but may need to satisfy the computing prerequisites. Their first few courses are at the upper division undergraduate level to prepare them for their graduate level courses. Such students are STRONGLY advised to order their program in this way. On graduation, they are well prepared for a career in bioinformatics, typically beginning at entry level. |
